FEMA Denies Individual Aid to Minneapolis Tornado Victims: MyFoxTWINCITIES.com
I'm sure you've heard about the tornado that hit Minneapolis and surrounding cities May 22, 2011. Most of the Minneapolis residents rent their homes; so for those who didn't have renters insurance and lost their homes and everything else in this disaster wait and pray for relief from their government, FEMA just has officially denied that relief. Obama says the people weren't "hurt enough" and because they weren't "hurt enough" victims of this disasters aren't qualified for individual aid to get them back on their feet. Though the money couldn't go to the victims affected by this disaster money did go to Local city and state government as well as non profits, hmmm....
Anyway another thing I learned is that contractors who responded right after the disaster and had the intent on volunteering as well as buying materials to rebuild were denied entrance in the area by the city workers, when I went to help myself I was told I can't because I'm a liability and it was my neighborhood. Contractors asked if they could just give some estimates to the residents and were told NO, when giving etimates isn't even work it's only measuring the amount of work and giving the potential customers an approximate fee for work, it's insane.
Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak will be visiting the White house to appeal possibly this decision, I really hope he doesn't plan on telling Obama the majority of residents in the city are black, or that these are the same people that voted for you, just tell him if you show them your there for them they'll vote for you again.
